Take a look at the news about the 2009 AEC English Training Summer Camp in Zhoushan!
July 16 – August 07, 2009
Held on the beautiful and relaxing Shengsi Isles of Zhoushan, this event was organized and carried out by Amanda’s Education Consultancy (AEC) as a way to provide an opportunity to young students who needed a unique and exciting environment to practice and reinforce their English skills, as well as create some lasting memories of a fun-filled three-weeks departure from the usual summer period of boredom and inactivity that other kids commonly face.
Partnering with local organizer Shengsi Adults Education Center in Shengsi Island, AEC was able to create a fresh and enjoyable summertime educational experience that caters to the special needs of children and youths 7 – 14 years of age.
Three teachers were brought on board to provide top-quality educational services, and to create a caring and nurturing environment that would lead to greater overall success for the students who spent their days interacting with them. These teachers were carefully selected from a list of candidates based upon their education, training, and experience with ESL students in China.
The husband-and-wife team of Ian Russell and Colleen Russell brought forth their combined talents, and formed a great level of partnership that gave the students a home-like feeling while away from their own homes, as well as providing the family environment that only a couple can produce. Both Ian and Colleen taught for a number of years in their home country of Australia, and currently live and work in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. They are part of the Foreign Language Department at Zhejiang University, and also take part in IELTS testing in their area.
Andrew Preddy, the third member of the AEC Summer Camp team, hails from England. With 9 years living in China, and an equal amount of time teaching young students, he brings with him a solid level of experience that is hard to match in the industry. Currently, Andrew lives and works in Shenzhen, but he has expressed great interest in returning to Zhoushan for another AEC English Training Summer Camp next year!
The students who attended the AEC Summer Camp were highly pleased with the experience, and have expressed their interest in returning to the island of Zhoushan for another session as well. Many of these young students have never had the opportunity to interact with foreigners on such a personal level, and were quite at ease with being face-to-face in a short amount of time.
We welcome your questions about a future Summer Camp, and any other questions you may have for Amanda’s Education Consultancy. Most of all, we thank you for letting us share this news update with you!
